Authorizing the proper city officials to provide refreshments to attendees of department recognition ceremonies.
Body
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police, Todd Axtell, recognizes and acknowledges police employees for their outstanding achievements and exemplary dedication to public services; and
WHEREAS, recognition ceremonies including but not limited to Medal of Valor, Chief’s Award, Employee of the Year, the promotion of employees are held throughout the year at various places and time; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of the ceremonies and events is that the city council and mayor deem it important to recognize the commitment and dedication to public service of the city’s police employees; and
BE IT ORDERED, that pursuant to the 2017 city budget , the proper city officials are hereby authorized to remit an amount not to exceed $5,000 to cover expenses including food, beverages and room rental incurred from the above various ceremonies and events during 2017.
