Title

Amending the financing and spending plan in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $334,368 to utilize parkland dedication funds and for a grant awarded from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for the Central Village Trails project.

Body

 

WHEREAS, CF #23-198 authorized the Department of Parks and Recreation (“Department”) to apply for funds from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ Local Trail Connections grant program; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department was awarded $247,193 for said project; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department wishes to utilize $87,175 in parkland dedication fees paid within the project area to match the grant and complete the project budget; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department wishes to amend the financing and spending plan to reflect said parkland dedication and grant funds; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $334,368 in excess of those estimated in the 2024 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $334,368 is available for appropriation in the 2024 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2024 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is hereby amended as attached.
