Amending the financing and spending plan in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $399,777.10 to reflect grant funds received from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Justice Programs, Restorative Practices Initiatives grant program (and authorizing them to enter into a grant agreement detailing the requirements of said grant).

Body

WHEREAS, by Res 24-1853, the Department of Parks and Recreation, in partnership with Libraries and Human Resources, applied for and has received $399,777.10 from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Justice Programs, Restorative Practices Initiatives grant program; and

WHEREAS, grant funds will allow the Department of Parks and Recreation, Saint Paul Library, and Human Resources to imbed restorative practices into internal and external policies and operations throughout; and

WHEREAS, there is no match amount required of these funds by the City and other supporting agencies; and

WHEREAS, said Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Justice Programs, Restorative Practices Initiatives grant program funds require that the Department of Parks and Recreation enter into a grant agreement that details the conditions of the grant; and

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that funds to imbed restorative practices into internal and external policies and procedures has a public purpose; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to accept this grant and utilize the funding through the spending plan that has been developed; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to amend the financing and spending budget to reflect this additional funding; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.01 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $399,777.10 in excess of those estimated in the current budget; now, therefore, be it
