Authorizing the Saint Paul Public Library to accept state parks passes from the State of Minnesota (“State”) and authorizing the City to enter into a grant agreement with the State that includes indemnification language.
Body
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota, acting through its Commissioner of Natural Resources (the “State”), needs assistance making visits to state parks and recreation areas more accessible for Minnesotans who cannot otherwise afford state park entry fees; and
WHEREAS, the State wishes to work with the Saint Paul Public Library (“SPPL”) and provide SPPL with 27 free seven-day state park passes to distribute to SPPL patrons, which passes have a total value of $2,835; and
WHEREAS, the State wishes to enter into a Grant Contract Agreement (the “Agreement”) with the City of Saint Paul (the “City”) to govern the distribution of the park passes, and the Agreement includes indemnification language; and
WHEREAS, there is no required payment for these park passes by the City; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council finds that the grant of these park passes to SPPL for distribution to SPPL patrons has a public purpose; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes the Saint Paul Public Library to accept said parks passes from the State and authorizes the City to enter into the Agreement.
