Amending the 2025 spending and financing budgets in the Department of Public Works Traffic Signals and Street Lighting Maintenance Accounting Units to fund the purchase of two new wire trailers.
Body
WHEREAS, the department of Public Works Traffic division is responsible for replacing stolen copper wire within the City of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the Traffic Operations Department of Public Works has identified a need to acquire two additional trailers that will be used to transport replacement wire, as well as other materials that are needed for ongoing projects; and
WHEREAS, the additional trailers are expected to be much safer and easier to maneuver than the current existing wire trailers; and
WHEREAS, each New Felling Trailer Model FT-10P is expected to cost $22,000 per the vendor’s (Trenchers Plus) quote; and
WHEREAS, there are expected to be savings in the 2025 spending budget in the Public Works Traffic Signals and Street Lighting Maintenance Accounting Units that will be used to support this purchase; therefore via
ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER, consistent with the authority granted to the Mayor in Section 10.07.4 of the City Charter, and on the request of the Director of the Public Works Department to amend the 2025 spending budget for the reallocation of funds within existing budgets. The Director of the Office of Financial Services is authorized to amend said budget in the manner specified in the attached financial analysis.
