Authorizing the Police Department to enter into a sub-grantee agreement with Ramsey County to provide officers to work overtime on their 2011 Pilot Enforcement Project, and amending the financing and spending plans in the Police Department in the amount of $97,028.
Body
WHEREAS, Ramsey County (RC) received grant monies from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety (State); and
WHEREAS, Ramsey County wishes to sub-grant an award of $97,028 to the City of Saint Paul Police Department including all requirements and obligations to insure that grant funds are expended for authorized activities as set forth by the State; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul Police Department wishes to enter into the attached sub-grantee agreement that begins from the period October 1, 2010 to September 30, 2011 with Ramsey County which includes funding to cover personnel costs associated with this project that calls for increase compliance with traffic safety laws with emphasis on seat belt, child safety and DWI; and
WHEREAS, a 2011 financing and spending plan needs to be established for these funds; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $97,028 in excess of those estimated in the 2011 budget; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends that the following addition be made to the 2011 budget :
