Establishing charges for cut-off of water service connections.

WHEREAS, Section 87.16 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code provides that effective January 1, 2011, charges for cut off of water service connections (Cut-Off Charges) be approved by city council resolution based on the recommendation of the Board of Water Commissioners following a public hearing; and
WHEREAS, at its September 14, 2010 meeting, the Board provided said recommendation of charges, as listed below:
Excavation by others:
Under 3-inch: No Charge
3-inch through 8-inch: $700.00
Over 8-inch: Actual Cost
Excavation by SPRWS:
All sizes: Actual Cost
; and
WHEREAS, the Board did also request that the Saint Paul City Council approve the above charges following a public hearing; and
WHEREAS, the Council has considered the Boards recommendation and testimony received at a public hearing, notice of which was published in a newspaper of general circulation not less than ten (10) days prior thereto; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that pursuant to Section 87.14 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, the Saint Paul City Council hereby approves the Cut-Off Charges listed above, to be effective January 1, 2011.
