Purpose of Appeal: This was a Category 2 building and we have put in all new plumbing, heating, bathroom, & kitchens. We bought the building for $440K & put around $200K worth of improvements in it. Building is 75% through an extensive remodel and will be ready for occupancy before 1/1/15. We own a bunch of rental units in the area - and we do not flip properties.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Abe Appert and Jack "John" Appert to a Vacant Building Registration Renewal Notice at 694 GRAND AVENUE, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council waive the vacant building fee until January 1, 2015 for owner to get Fire Certificate of Occupancy reinstated; Now, Therefore, Be It
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
