Authorizing the Fire Department to pay for all costs incurred to hold a "Recruiting and Retaining Diversity in the Fire Service" workshop on June 29-30, 2011 at the Phalen Golf Course Club House.
Body
Pursuant to the 2011 City Budget, the proper City officials are hereby authorized to remit payment for the "Recruiting and Retaining Diversity in the Fire Service" workshop expenses not to exceed $2,000.00.  This will pay for all costs including light refreshments and lunch incurred by the Saint Paul Fire Department to host this workshop on June 29-30, 2011 at the Phalen Golf Course Club House.  The public purpose of this workshop is for statewide fire department members to get together to review national best practices and tactics to more effectively recruit and retain a qualified, diverse, inclusive workforce that represents the communities they serve.
A copy of said order is to be kept on file and of record in the Office of Financial Services.
