Authorizing the Office of Financial Services to amend the budget to reflect a $49,000 grant accepted from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Local Climate Action Grant Program for developing a municipal fleet decarbonization plan.
Body
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), has allocated $1.5 million in funding during FY2025 through the Local Climate Action Grant program to develop or implement plans of action that enable local jurisdictions to adapt to extreme weather events and a changing climate and/or to reduce the local jurisdiction’s contributions to the causes of climate change; and
WHEREAS, Resolution number 25-62 passed on 1/22/2025 authorized the Office of Financial Services to apply for a Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Local Climate Action Grant for developing a municipal fleet decarbonization plan; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency awarded the City of Saint Paul a Local Climate Action Grant of $49,000 with a required match of $24,500; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services has identified $24,500 in matching funds available in the Green Energy Loan Fund; and
WHEREAS, Resolution number 25-147 passed on 7/23/2025 authorized the Office of Financial Services to enter into a grant agreement with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency for development of a municipal fleet decarbonization plan; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services wishes to amend the financing and spending budget in the amount of $49,000 to support development of a municipal fleet decarbonization plan; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does hereby certify that $49,000 in funds are available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 2025 budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor, that $49,000 is available for appropriation in the 2025 budget, and said budget, as heretofore adopt...
