Title

Amending the financing and spending plan in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $250,000 to reflect Department of Natural Resources Land and Water Conservation Fund FY 2018 Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Program grant funds received for the Midway Peace Park project.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul applied for and received Department of Natural Resources (MN DNR) Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) FY 2018 Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Program grant funds (CF 18-1431); and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Parks and Recreation, will redevelop the Midway Peace Park site, creating new park space and amenities in this high-need community; and

 

WHEREAS, the grant requires a 1:1 match which will be met by existing CIB funds already designated for the project; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to accept said funding and amend the financing and spending budget in the amount of $250,000 for the Midway Peace Park project; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $250,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2018 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Committee, that $250,000 is available for appropriation in the 2018 Capital Improvement Budget, and said budget, as heretofore adopted by Council, are hereby further amended as outlined in the attached Financial Analysis.

The St. Paul Long-Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee received this request on February 10, 2020, and recommends approval.
