Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul (“City”) is leading the Twin Cities Electric Vehicle Mobility Network (the “project”) project, delivering over 70 electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs across Saint Paul and Minneapolis, with each hub providing both public EV charging and EV charging dedicated to use by over a 150-electric vehicle carshare service that is be operated by HOURCAR; and

WHEREAS, the City applied for and received a grant in the amount of $1,458,000 from the federal Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) for the continuation of the Evie project through the next 5 years through RES 22-334 at which time the City committed to completion of the project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has been awarded a federal Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) grant of $1,458,000 million for the continuation of the Evie project through the next 5 years; and

WHEREAS, the grant match of $364,500 is provided by City funds specifically allocated for grant matching; and

WHEREAS, the City has entered into Agreement No. 1052196 with the Minnesota Department of
Transportation for federal funding to lease electric vehicles for the Twin City Electric Vehicle
Mobility Network Project.; and

WHEREAS, this newly awarded funding will be used to lease additional electric vehicles, and grow the fleet of the Evie Carshare program. These vehicles will support the additional service area extension on the East Side of Saint Paul, in order to maintain the standard of vehicle density per square mile of service area.; and

WHEREAS, between 40-50 electronic vehicle carshare vehicles will be leased, with the final vehicle count being dependent on final Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) on the vehicle type that w...
