Title

Authorizing the Fire Department to apply for the 2025 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant from the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety State Fire Marshal Division to provide hazardous materials training and purchase equipment.

Body

WHEREAS, the Fire Department would like to apply for the 2025 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant from the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety State Fire Marshal Division to provide hazardous materials training and purchase equipment for the hazardous materials team; and

 

WHEREAS, the total grant amount is $295,000 and requires an in-kind 25% matching fund requirement of $73,750; and

 

WHEREAS, the Grants Division of the Office of Financial Services has reviewed and approved the Intent to Apply request; and

 

WHEREAS, the City certifies that it will comply with all applicable laws and regulations as stated in the grant agreement ; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council authorizes the Fire Department to apply for the 2025 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant.
