Authorizing disposal of decommissioned Fire Station No. 24 by Request for Proposals.

WHEREAS, on July 24, 2013 the City Council adopted RES PH 13-23 authorizing the vacation and disposal of decommissioned Fire Station No. 24 at 1720 Seventh Street East, Saint Paul (the "Property"); and
WHEREAS, said resolution authorized and directed the proper city officials to dispose of the Property in accordance with Chapter 51 of the Administrative Code; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to adoption of said resolution it was determined that the appropriate method of disposal under Chapter 51 was Sec. 51.01 (5), "Advertising for Bid Proposals" (aka "Request for Proposals"), which method the City Council must authorize if the future use of the property is of importance to the general welfare of the public and may be of greater significance to the well-being of the community than the highest price that may be offered for the Property; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the proper city officials to dispose of the Property in accordance with Sec. 51.01 (5) of the Administrative Code.
