Accepting up to $1,000 from Endeavor Business Media for travel and conference expenses for Saint Paul Parks and Recreation staff to attend the national Parks and Recreation Summit in Phoenix, Arizona from April 22 to April 24, 2020.

WHEREAS, Endeavor Business Media has a mission to help connect leaders in various organizations and agencies throughout the country with relevant content to improve industry knowledge and the delivery of service through various forms of media and industry partnerships, and hosts an annual national summit called the "Parks and Recreation Summit" that is attended by Parks and Recreation leaders throughout the country; and

WHEREAS, the "Parks and Recreation Summit" seeks to offer learning, access to relevant content, and information-sharing amongst attendees to address the most pressing issues facing cities and Parks and Recreation agencies throughout the country; and

WHEREAS, through panel discussions, workshops, and various recognized industry speakers, participants will be engaged in information sharing and learning throughout the Summit; and

WHEREAS, Endeavor Business Media has helped ensure agencies across the country are able to send top-level leaders to these conferences to improve knowledge sharing and panel discussions, and has offered to pay the costs of travel and conference expenses, up to $1,000, for Saint Paul Parks and Recreation director Mike Hahm to attend and participate in the Summit; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that attendance at this convening will provide a public benefit to the City by providing an opportunity for Saint Paul's Parks and Recreation director to engage in the Summit to develop expertise, obtain and share practical knowledge, and develop a professional network to draw on to address future challenges in Saint Paul; now, therefore, be it
