Increasing the 2026 Saint Paul Public Library Budget with $120,000 appropriations transfer from the Parks Department
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul received an After School Community Learning Grant from the State of Minnesota’s Department of Education in 2024 (the “Grant”) to support the Parks and Recreation Department (the “Parks Department”) and Saint Paul Public Library Agency (the “Library”) and the some of the Grant was allocated between the Parks Department and the Library’s 2026 Budgets;
WHEREAS, the Parks Department wishes to transfer a portion of the Grant in their 2026 budget in the amount of $120,000 to the Library’s 2026 budget to accurately reflect the Grant’s revenue and expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to City Charter Section 10.07.4, recommends the transfer of $120,000 of unencumbered appropriations from the Parks Department to the Library; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the transfer and the changes to the 2026 Parks Department Budget; and now
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Library Board approves the changes to the 2026 Library Budget as specified in the attached financial analysis.
