Approving the Memorandum of Agreement between the City and Operating Engineers Local 49 in order to provide preferred license premium pay for Heavy Equipment Operators in the Saint Paul Regional Water Services. (To be laid over one week for adoption)

Whereas, the last Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Saint Paul and the Tri-Council (LIUNA Laborers, Local 363; General Drivers, Local 120; and Operating Engineers, Local 49), which was approved by the Saint Paul City Council on July 12, 2023, continues in full force and effect through December 31, 2025, and thereafter until modified or amended by mutual agreement of the parties; and
Whereas, the City of Saint Paul and Operating Engineers Local 49 reached a tentative agreement on a new Memorandum of Agreement that, once approved, shall be effective the first pay period following adoption by the City Council and shall run concurrently with the 2023 - 2025 collective bargaining agreement and shall renew annually thereafter until modified or amended by mutual agreement of the parties; now therefore, be it
Resolved, that the Saint Paul City Council, pursuant to the Saint Paul City Charter Section 6.03.3 (5) hereby approves and ratifies the attached Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Saint Paul and Operating Engineers Local 49 in order to provide preferred license premium pay for Heavy Equipment Operators in the Saint Paul Regional Water Services.
