Authorizing the City of Saint Paul to enter into a contract with the Saint Paul RiverCentre & Convention Authority to equip, maintain, manage, and operate the Saint Paul RiverCentre and to market and promote the City of Saint Paul as a tourist and convention destination.
Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority granted by 2005 Minn. Laws, Chapter 152, Article 1, Sections 1 and 38, the Saint Paul City Council in 2005 adopted a resolution authorizing the City of Saint Paul (the "City") to enter into a contract with the Saint Paul RiverCentre & Convention Authority (the "Authority") to equip, maintain, manage and operate the Saint Paul RiverCentre and to market and promote the city of Saint Paul as a tourist and convention destination; and
WHEREAS, the City entered into such a contract with the Authority on September 30, 2005, which contract has been renewed and extended from time to time (the "Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, the Agreement will expire on December 31, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Authority wish to enter into a new agreement, with an initial term of three years (the "Renewed Agreement"), commencing on January 1, 2015, on substantially the same terms as the Agreement except with such amendments as are contained in the draft Renewed Agreement submitted herewith,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby approves the execution of the Renewed Agreement with the RCVA, in substantially the form and substance submitted, and further authorizes the requisite signatories authorized under Chapter 86 of the City's Administrative Code to enter into and execute the Renewed Agreement on behalf of the City.
