Title

Approving the Mayor’s appointment of Alliana Golds, Joua Lor, and Mary Wah to three-year terms on the Humans Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission.

Body

WHEREAS, the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity (HREEO) Commission is responsible for monitoring and advising the department on promoting justice and equity and fostering hiring policies that maximize the diversity of the workforce of the city; and

 

WHEREAS, Saint Paul Legislative Code Section 183.19 (1) states that the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission consists of twenty-one (21) members appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Council; and

 

WHEREAS, Alliana Golds, Joua Lor, and Mary Wah are participants in the Youth on Boards program in Parks and Recreation and have been recommended by staff to serve on the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission; and

 

WHEREAS, Mayor Kaohly Her wishes to appoint Alliana Golds, Joua Lor, and Mary Wah to the Humans Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission to a three-year term ending on March 31, 2029; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves the appointment of Alliana Golds, Joua Lor, and Mary Wah to three-year terms as members of the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission for a term ending on March 31, 2029.
