Accepting the gift of transportation and lodging expenses from Visit Saint Paul for the Mayor to attend the London Vikings Media trip to promote the City of Saint Paul as a tourist destination.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul RiverCentre Convention and Visitors Authority d/b/a Visit Saint Paul generates economic growth for Saint Paul by effectively marketing the RiverCentre campus, Saint Paul and the region as a preferred convention and tourism destination; and
WHEREAS, Greater MSP is a private non-profit organization dedicated to providing public and private sector leadership, coordination and engagement to grow the economy of the 16-County Minneapolis Saint Paul region; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Vikings are playing a game in London, England on Sunday, September 29, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Visit Saint Paul and Greater MSP are jointly sponsoring a London Vikings Media trip to promote Saint Paul (and Minneapolis and the Metropolitan Area) as a tourism destination; and
WHEREAS, other organizations sending participants include: Visit Saint Paul, Meet Minneapolis, MOA, Explore MN, and the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Visit Saint Paul has offered to provide transportation and lodging costs so that the Mayor can attend the London Vikings Media trip between September 25 and September 30, 2013; and
WHEREAS, the value of the transportation and lodging costs will be approximately $3,000.00; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul thanks Visit Saint Paul and gratefully accepts this offer.
