Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department $625,000 for the 2014 Assistance to Firefighters Grant to purchase turnout gear, turnout gear washers and dryers, and to provide training for firefighters.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department applied for and received a grant of $1,562,000 fro the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program which has a federal share of $1,420,000 and a 10% matching fund contribution of $142,000 to purchase turnout gear, turnout gear washers and dryers, and provide training for firefighters, and
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the budget for this grant on Council Resolution 15-263, and
WHEREAS, the 2016 financing and spending plans need to be amended for these funds, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $665,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2016 budget and recommends the following changes:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this grant and approves the changes in the 2016 budget.
