Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department to purchase 13 LUCAS devices.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the Fire Department has received a grant and donations to assist in the purchase of the 13 LUCAS devices which is an automatic, mechanical CPR unit that will be used by the paramedics in providing medical care to patients, and
 
WHEREAS, the Fire Department received a grant of $49,999.00 from the University of Minnesota, and
 
WHEREAS, the Fire Department received a donation of $97,000.00 from Allina Health System and $25,000.00 from the Saint Paul Fire Foundation, and
 
WHEREAS, the Fire Department will be providing $26,001.00 in matching funds to purchase the 13 LUCAS devices, and
 
WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the money received, and
 
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation of funds $198,000.00 in excess of those estimated in the 2012 budget, and
 
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends that the following addition be made to the 2012 budget:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the changes to the 2012 budget.
