Authorizing the Office of Financial Empowerment to accept a $1,000 gift from the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation to support community engagement efforts and amending the 2025 budget for the Office of Financial Empowerment.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul seeks to improve the health, welfare, and prosperity of the children and families of Saint Paul through community-centered strategies and programming administered by the Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE); and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation has generously provided a $1,000 gift to support the City of Saint Paul’s efforts to increase access to financial empowerment resources and community engagement; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Empowerment intends to use these funds to support general programming and engagement activities that align with OFE’s mission, including costs associated with refreshments, materials, and outreach at public events; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, certifies that there will be available for appropriation funds of $1,000 in excess of those dedicated to the Office of Financial Empowerment in 2025; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, the City Council of Saint Paul hereby:
1. Authorizes the Office of Financial Empowerment to accept the $1,000 gift from the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation to support community engagement activities.
2. Amends the 2025 Office of Financial Empowerment budget as detailed in the attached Financial Analysis.
