Authorizing the Fire Department to donate equipment to the Ukrainian American Community Center.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department has determine the personal protective gear, medical supplies, and equipment listed in Attachment A is no longer needed to carry out department functions and is obsolete, and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department has received a request from the Ukrainian American Community Center, a bona fide fraternal nonprofit organization asking that the property mentioned below be donated to the organization to help it carry out its mission; and
WHEREAS, Section 2.02 (G) (6) g. 3 of the Saint Paul Administrative Code authorizes the City to donate surplus equipment to a bona fide organization upon a resolution that such donation is related to the function of government, serves a public purpose, and it for the benefit of the community as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the Ukrainian American Community Center has a use for the personal protective gear, medical supplies and equipment listed on Attachment A; and
WHEREAS, the estimated value of the equipment and supplies is $4,280.00; and
WHEREAS, the City Council's transfer of the equipment and supplies would provide the Ukrainian American Community Center with equipment that is no longer needed by the Saint Paul Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the donation of this equipment is related to the function of government and has a public purpose to donate the equipment to a nonprofit organization to be used by the Ukrainian American Community Center; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the donation of the equipment and supplies listed on Attachment A to the Ukrainian American Community Center on the condition that the Ukrainian American Community Center shall remove the equipment in a manner and in accordance with the timeline mutually agreed upon with the Saint Paul Fire Department and shall bear all costs associated with the removal and transportation...
