Approving the gift of airfare and hotel accommodations from Minnesota Philanthropy Partners for Mayor's staff member Nancy Homans to serve as a panelist at The Integration Initiative meetings in Chicago, October 8-10, 2013.

WHEREAS, Living Cities, a collaborative of national funders, selected the Twin Cities region to participate in The Integration Initiative in 2010; and
WHEREAS, Living Cities is hosting a series of meetings related to The Integration Initiative in Chicago on October 8-10, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Nancy Homans, staff to Mayor Chris Coleman, has been invited to be a panelist at those meetings; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Philanthropy Partners has agreed to pay the airfare and hotel expenses for invited panelists from the Twin Cities;
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that attendance at these meetings will fulfill a public purpose by giving the Mayor's staff the opportunity to help shape future Living Cities investments in urban areas; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED that the City accepts from Minnesota Philanthropy Partners the gift of airfare at a cost not to exceed $120 and hotel accomodations at a cost not to exceed $850; and be it finally
RESOLVED, that the City thanks Minnesota Philanthropy Partners for their generosity.
