Authorizing Police Department to accept a grant/donation from the St. Paul Police Foundation for Cops and Kids and Shop With Cops.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation was formed in 2005 to help the Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) in many ways including insuring that public safety for our citizens remains the number one priority for our city; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation board of directors has approved the granting/donation of $2,500 to the SPPD, and;
WHEREAS, the SPPD would like to accept this donation; and
WHEREAS, the public served is that $2,000 will be used for the 2011 Shop with Cops Program and $500 will be used for the 2011 Cops and Kids hospital program; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extend its sincere thanks to the Saint Paul Police Foundation.
