Ratifying the assessment for Collection of Vacant Building Registration fees billed during July 25, 2023 to June 19, 2024. (File No. VB2504, Assessment No. 258803)
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council in Council File RES 24-1550 accepted the Report of Completion for Collection of Vacant Building Registration Fees billed during the time period of July 25, 2023 to June 19, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has considered objections of affected property owners and developed recommendations for the City Council with respect to their assessments; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on February 19, 2025 to consider ratification of the assessment roll; and
WHEREAS, the City Council considered and found satisfactory the assessment of benefits, costs and expenses for the services provided; and
WHEREAS, the assessment amount for each property will be payable in a term of 1 year, with the property taxes in 2026; unless specified by the Legislative Hearing Officer’s recommended amendments:
RLH TA 24-508: 554 Arundel Street;
RLH TA 25-20: 372 Aurora Avenue;
RLH TA 25-7: 1264 Payne Avenue;
RLH TA 25-6: 911 Sims Avenue;
RLH TA 25-XXX: 463 Forest Street - delete for separate consideration - continue Public Hearing to February 26, 2025 with a Legislative Hearing to February 25, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the assessments will bear an interest rate of 5.65 percent per annum from the date of the adoption of this resolution; and
RESOLVED, that, pursuant to Chapter 429 of Minnesota State Statues and Chapter 60 of the Saint Paul Administrative Code, the assessment is hereby in all respects ratified.
