Authorizing the City Attorney’s Office to apply for, and if granted accept, a $700 Workplace Wellness grant from the Saint Paul Chamber of Commerce to offset the cost of a nursing room, and authorizing execution of a grant agreement.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City Attorney’s Office promotes citywide values and strives to support social cohesion, workplace satisfaction, and mental and physical well-being of employees; and

 

WHEREAS, many members of the CAO staff do not have an office or private place for discreet breast milk storage, pump storage, as well as comfortable furniture; and

 

WHEREAS, the CAO would like to create such a room for nursing mothers; and

 

WHEREAS, when not used as a nursing room, the room would be available to other staff for various wellness activities; and

 

WHEREAS, CAO seeks a Workplace Wellness grant from the Saint Paul Chamber of Commerce to offset some of the costs associated with this initiative (the “Grant”); and

 

WHEREAS, the total grant award is $700; and

 

WHEREAS, upon acceptance and receipt of the Grant, financing and spending plans need be established; and

 

WHEREAS, upon acceptance and receipt of the Grant, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriations funds of $700 in excess of those estimated in the 2020 budget; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, by the City Council, as follows:

 

1.                     The City Attorney’s Office may pursue a $700 Workplace Wellness grant from the Saint Paul Chamber of Commerce.

 

2.                     That upon acceptance and receipt of the Grant, the 2020 budget, as heretofore adopted by Council, is hereby amended as outlined in the attached financial analysis.

 

That the proper City officials are authorized to execute a grant agreement to accomplish the objectives of this Resolution.
