Title

Approving the Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Saint Paul and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 70, for the purpose of providing a pilot program for off-shift differential pay for employees that are regularly scheduled to work on the weekends.  (To be laid over one week for adoption)

Body

Whereas, the last Labor Agreement and Memorandums of Agreement between the City of Saint Paul and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 70, which was approved by the Saint Paul City Council on June 10, 2026, continues in full force and effect through December 31, 2028, and thereafter until modified or amended by mutual agreement of the parties; and

 

Whereas, the City of Saint Paul and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 70, have reached a tentative agreement on a new Memorandum of Agreement that, once approved, shall become effective the pay period following adoption by City Council; now therefore be it

 

Resolved, that the Saint Paul City Council, pursuant to the Saint Paul City Charter Section 6.03.3 (5), hereby approves and ratifies the attached Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Saint Paul and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 70.
