Amending the financing and spending plans in the Police Department in the amount of $197,195 for the 2018 and 2019 Toward Zero Death sub-grants from Ramsey County.
Body
WHEREAS, Ramsey County was awarded the 2018 Toward Zero Death Enforcement Program grant with the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety and sub-granted $106,296.58 of this grant to the City of Saint Paul, Police Department (RES PH 17-303); and
WHEREAS, this grant provides funds for the costs of personnel and equipment in its effort to increase compliance with traffic safety laws with particular emphasis on seat belt, child safety and driving while intoxicated and Ramsey County allocated additional funding from this grant to the department in the amount of $104,195; and
WHEREAS, Ramsey County was awarded the 2019 Toward Zero Death Enforcement Program Grant with additional funding to continue this program and sub-granted the Saint Paul Police Department in the amount of $184,275 (RES 18-1886); and
WHEREAS, the 2018 budget and activity budget needs to be amended for this increase in the sub-grant allocation and new sub-award from Ramsey County; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $197,195 in excess of those estimated in the 2018 grant fund budget and recommends the changes as specified in the attached financial analysis; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves these changes to the 2018 grant fund and activity budget for these sub-grants.
