Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept a donation of 400 cockerel chicks from Hoovers Hatchery for the use of animal food at the Como Zoo.

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department has the opportunity to receive 400 cockerel chicks that would otherwise need to be purchased at approximately $0.53 each; and
WHEREAS, Hoovers Hatchery is willing to donate them, free of charge, to the Como Zoo for the use of animal food; and
WHEREAS, Zoo staff only has to pick them up at the airport, therefore also avoiding the shipping charges that accompany the purchasing alternative; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts the donation of the cockerel chicks from the Hoovers Hatchery for the Como Zoo, and thanks them for their generous donation.
