Amending the 2025 budget to establish a transition team budget for Mayor-elect Her.
Body
WHEREAS, the results of the general election on November 4, 2025, dictate a transition from Mayor Carter’s administration to Mayor-elect Her’s administration effective in January of 2026; and
WHEREAS, the Council finds a public purpose in an effective and thorough transition by providing the Mayor-elect sufficient access to information and resources of the City to make decisions on issues, personnel, and other matters relating to her executive duties prior to the date she officially assumes those duties; and
WHEREAS, as part of the transition, Mayor-elect Her may seek input from members of the public on transition topics; and
WHEREAS, it is projected that there will be savings within the existing 2025 budget in certain departments in fund 211; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Charter Section 10.07.4, recommends the transfer of $100,000 of unencumbered appropriations from one department, office or agency to another; now
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the changes to the 2025 Budget as specified in the attached financial analysis.
