Pertaining to an Amendment No. 2 to Agreement with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. to provide professional engineering services during the reconditioning of the Board’s elevated water towers.


Body
WHEREAS, the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul (the “Board”) desires to obtain professional engineering services for the reconditioning of the Board’s Highland #2 elevated water tower; and

WHEREAS, at its February 8, 2022 meeting, the Board approved Contract No. 3407 with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. (“SEH”) to provide professional engineering services during the reconditioning of the Board’s Ferndale Street elevated water tower, which Agreement provided for the same scope of work to be provided for Highland #2 and Highland #3 upon mutual agreement; and

WHEREAS, at its July 11, 2023 meeting, the Board approved an Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 3407 with SEH to provide professional engineering services during the reconditioning of the Board’s Highland #3 elevated water tower at a cost not to exceed of $84,200; and

WHEREAS, during the pre-design inspection of Highland #3, it was determined to be in better condition than Highland #2, therefore SEH and Board staff wish to amend the agreement to postpone the Highland #3 scope of services, except for pre-design work that has been completed, account for rate adjustments for 2024 raising the cost of Amendment No. 1 by $2,838 making the total not to exceed cost for Amendment No. 1 $87,038, and include the full scope of services during the Board’s Highland #2 tower reconditioning project at a cost not to exceed $96,700; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul hereby requests that City of Saint Paul Contracts and Analysis Services draft an Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. dated February 9, 2022 known as Contract No. 3407 to provide professional engineering services for the reconditioning of the Board’s...
