Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to enter into an agreement with Resource Recovery Technologies, which includes an indemnification clause, to allow the City of Saint Paul to deliver all municipal solid waste to the Resource Recovery Technologies location in Newport, Minnesota.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul Department of Parks and Recreation has identified a need for municipal solid waste removal; and
WHEREAS, Resource Recovery Technologies has a municipal solid waste processing facility, located on Maxwell Avenue in Newport, Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, Resource Recovery Technologies is willing to allow the City of Saint Paul Department of Parks and Recreation to deliver all municipal solid waste it collects from sites in the City of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the council finds that the expenditure of money, which includes the promise of indemnification, has a public purpose in that it will permit the Department of Parks and Recreation to deliver municipal solid waste; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes the appropriate city officials to enter into the attached agreement with Resource Recovery Technologies, which includes indemnification language.
