Setting the recycling service fee for 2018, and authorizing Public Works to request $745,493 in SCORE grant funds from Ramsey County to support the curbside recycling program. (Public hearing held November 1)

 

Body

WHEREAS, the request of the SCORE grant funds from Ramsey County and setting the recycling service fees for 2018 will allow the City to continue the curbside collection of recyclables program; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to continue service in 2018 for weekly collection of recyclables, the City Recycling Service Fee in 2018 shall remain at $58.20 per unit in residential buildings with one to three units including condominiums, and $36.16 per unit in residential buildings with four or more units, for support of the citywide and multi-family / city buildings recycling collection programs and solid waste management; and

 

WHEREAS, this represents a 0.0% increase in the 2018 City Recycling Fee rates; now

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to request SCORE state recycling grant funds from Ramsey County in the amount of $745,493 in 2018 for support of the citywide and multi-family recycling collection programs; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby adopt the 2018 City Recycling Service Fees as referenced above.
