Ratifying the assessment for Excessive Use of Inspection or Abatement services billed during May 22 to June 20, 2024 (File No. J2504E, Assessment No. 258303)

AMENDED 2/19/25

 

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council in Council File RES 24-1553 accepted the Report of Completion for Excessive Use of Inspection or Abatement Service for the Property Code Violations billed during the time period of May 22 to June 20, 2024; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has considered objections of affected property owners and developed recommendations for the City Council with respect to their assessments; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on February 19, 2025 to consider ratification of the assessment roll; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council considered and found satisfactory the assessment of benefits, costs and expenses for the services provided; and

 

WHEREAS, the assessment amount for each property will be payable in a term of 1 year, with the property taxes in 2026; unless specified by the Legislative Hearing Officer’s recommended amendments:

 

RLH TA 24-512:  559 Idaho Avenue East;

RLH TA 25-32:  287 Edmund Avenue;

RLH TA 25-32:  104 Ivy Avenue West;

RLH TA 24-489:  676 Third Street East;

RLH TA 24-478:  1319 Thomas Avenue;

RLH TA 25-XX:  435 Van Buren Avenue-delete for separation consideration on March 4, 2025 Legislative Hearing; and

 

WHEREAS, the assessments will bear an interest rate of 5.65 percent per annum from the date of the adoption of this resolution; and

 

RESOLVED, that, pursuant to Chapter 429 of Minnesota State Statues and Chapter 60 of the Saint Paul Administrative Code, the assessment is hereby in all respects ratified.
