Body

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has received an additional $85,000 from the Saint Paul Public School’s (SPPS) Community Partnership for 2022-2024 ARP grant program; and

WHEREAS, grant funds would allow the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide additional support for the Upside: Leadership Programming for Middle-School Youth project and for additional Citywide programs and events; and

WHEREAS, there is no match required of these funds by the City and other supporting agencies of the Citywide programs and events supported by these funds; and

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Public School’s (SPPS) Community Partnership for 2022-2024 ARP grant funds require that the Department of Parks and Recreation enter into a grant agreement that details the conditions of the grant, which includes an indemnification clause; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to accept said grant and utilize the funding through the spending plan that has been developed; and

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that funds to provide additional Citywide youth leadership-based programs and event opportunities to St. Paul middle school youth living and going to school in the community has a public purpose; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to amend the Grant Fund budget to reflect this additional funding; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.01 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there ...
