Approving a City Hall Annex Pedestrian Access License Agreement between the City of Saint Paul and Ramsey County.
Body
WHEREAS, the former Lowry Hotel property, located at 345 Wabasha Street ("Lowry Building"), is currently undergoing renovation to provide office space for Ramsey County (County"); and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul ("City") is owner of the City Hall Annex ("CHA"), located at 25 West Fourth Street and adjacent to the Lowry Building; and
WHEREAS, the City has made improvements to the CHA second floor corridor to establish an emergency fire exit passageway for occupants of the Lowry Building in accordance with an executed easement agreement between the City and Lowry Building owner; and
WHEREAS, the County has requested that the emergency fire exit passageway within the second floor corridor also be used as a secure pedestrian access pathway for County personnel between the Lowry Building and the City Hall/Court House, and for County access to the CHA second floor break room, and that such access be coterminous with the County's lease in the Lowry Building; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing to grant such access to the County for said uses and has prepared and negotiated a Pedestrian Access License Agreement ("Agreement"), as set forth in Attachment A; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby approves said Agreement, and the proper city officials are authorized and directed to execute same.
