Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for up to $150,000 in capital funds and up to $75,000 in equipment funds for Hidden Falls-Crosby Regional Park from the Federal Recreational Trail grant program; and to apply for grants to other agencies and groups as needed for any matching amounts required.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul performs significant services for residents of the Metropolitan area and all Minnesota residents through its ownership and operation of its parks and trails; and
WHEREAS, the City supports and will continue to support the cooperative efforts of the State of Minnesota to provide resources for the betterment of our parks and trails system; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Parks and Recreation, wishes to construct a boardwalk at Hidden Falls-Crosby Farm Regional Park; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Parks and Recreation, wishes to purchase winter trail grooming equipment for use at Hidden Falls-Crosby Farm Regional Park; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has read the Conflict of Interest Policy contained in the grant program manual and certifies it will report any actual, potential, perceived or organizational conflicts of interest upon discovery to the State related to the application or a grant award; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has the legal authority to apply for financial assistance, and financial capability to meet the match requirement, if any, and will not exceed 50%, and ensure adequate construction, operation, maintenance, and replacement of the proposed project for its design life; Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the appropriate City officials to apply for funds from the Federal Recreational Trail grant program for Hidden Falls-Crosby Farm Regional Park, and to apply for grants from other agencies and groups for any matching amounts as may be necessary to implement the projects on...
