Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Public Works, EV operating fund in the amount of $300,000 to reflect contributions from the City of Minneapolis to support ongoing Evie Carshare operations.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is the program lead for Evie Carshare and holds the operating contract with HOURCAR to operate fleet vehicles associated with the program; and
WHEREAS, Evie Carshare vehicles are insured by HOURCAR, confirmed in the operating agreement between City of Saint Paul and HOURCAR; and
WHEREAS, the total cost to insure Evie Fleet vehicles has doubled in the last calendar year, presenting a significant gap in available funds by HOURCAR; and
WHEREAS, Minneapolis will contribute $300,000 in one-time funding to support HOURCAR
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor that $300,000 is available for appropriation in the 2026 budget, and said 2026 budget is amended as indicated in the attached documentation.
