Accepting the gift of travel expenses from the National League of Cities for Daniel Yang and Ikram Koliso to attend the National League of Cities Early Childhood Success Summit convening in San Antonio, Texas on November 18-19, 2019 with support from the Bezos Family Foundation, the J.B. and M.K. Pritzker Family Foundation, and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

WHEREAS, the National League of Cities (“NLC”) is dedicated to helping city leaders build better communities. Working in partnership with the 49 state municipal leagues, NLC serves as a resource to and an advocate for the more than 19,000 cities, villages and towns it represents, by strengthening and promoting cities as centers of opportunity, leadership, and governance; and
WHEREAS, in preparation for its 20-year anniversary in 2020, the NLC is preparing to celebrate by bringing together elected officials, funders, national partners, and city leaders from across the country for a two day summit to reflect and explore innovative ways cities can continue to lead the way in addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing young children; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Yang, Mayor’s Office, Senior Policy Advisor, and Ikram Koliso, CSA Program Manager, Office of Financial Empowerment, have been invited to attend the NLC Early Childhood Success Summit convening in San Antonio, Texas on November 18-19, 2019; and
WHEREAS, NLC with support from the Bezos Family Foundation, the J.B. and M.K. Pritzker Family Foundation, and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation has offered to cover the travel expenses, lodging and meals for Daniel Yang and Ikram Koliso to attend the convening; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul finds that attendance at this convening is beneficial to the City by providing an opportunity for participants to engage in sessions to develop expertise, obtain practical knowledge on the topic and development of a professional network; now therefore, be it
