Setting the recycling service fee for 2020, and authorizing Public Works to request $840,830 in SCORE grant funds from Ramsey County to support the curbside recycling program under contract with Eureka Recycling. (Public hearing held November 6)

WHEREAS, the request of the SCORE grant funds from Ramsey County and setting the recycling service fees for 2020 will allow the City to continue the curbside collection of recyclables program currently under contract with Eureka Recycling through 2020; and
WHEREAS, tin order to continue service in 2020 for weekly curbside collection of recyclables, the City Recycling Service Fee in 2020 shall be set at $58.20 per unit in residential buildings with one to three units including condominiums, and $36.12 per unit in residential buildings with four or more units, for support of the citywide curbside and multi-family/city buildings recycling collection programs conducted under contract with Eureka Recycling; and
WHEREAS, this represents a 0% increase in 2020 City Recycling Fee rates; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to request SCORE state recycling grant funds from Ramsey County in the amount of $840,830 in 2020 for support of the citywide curbside and multi-family recycling collection programs conducted under contract with Eureka Recycling; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby adopt the 2020 City Recycling Service Fees as referenced above.
