Purpose of Appeal: I purchased the building about 1 year ago with the intention of remodeling for my business. That process was started and the demolition phase completed. Before I could start the remodel phase, my business was ordered closed by Minnesota Department of Health due to COVID-19 last spring. I delayed the remodel phase until next spring. I need the gas and water maintained through the winter in order to operate the boiler in the building.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the the Appeal of John Bassett, VADC Holdings LLC, to a Vacant Building Registration Notice at 1054 UNIVERSITY AVENUE WEST, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council waive vacant building fees for 90 days (to March 11, 2021); Now, Therefore, Be It
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
