Moving 2016 Parks and Library Capital Asset Revitalization Program funds to the Library Agency's 2015 Capital Maintenance program to upgrade the George Latimer Central Library’s fire safety system.
Body
WHEREAS, the George Latimer Central Library had an attic/roof fire on February 18, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the incident revealed inadequacies of the fire safety system at the George Latimer Central Library; and
WHEREAS, the Library Agency received original funding to upgrade the manual and automated system that will alert staff and patrons throughout the library in RES PH 16-108; and
WHEREAS, bids for the fire safety system upgrades came in higher than expected; and
WHEREAS, the Library Agency is requesting additional funds from the 2016 Parks and Library Capital Asset Revitalization program to transfer the needed $98,000 to finish the project; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.04 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are funds of $98,000 available in the current CIB budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor, that $98,000 be transferred from the CIB budget to the Library Agency’s 2015 Capital Maintenance Budget, heretofore adopted by the Council, and hereby amended as set forth:
