Approving updated rules and regulations for the Department of Parks and Recreation.
Body
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Legislative Code §170.10(b) authorizes the Director of Parks and Recreation to establish reasonable rules for the use of the park system and those rules must be approved by the City Council by resolution; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 19-20 regulating shared transportation systems and the application of scooter vendors to operate in the city, including parkland, prompted staff review of the established Department Rules and Regulations; and
WHEREAS, Department management staff, the Safety and Security Supervisor, and the City Attorney’s office have reviewed and made necessary changes to the document; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed and approved the updated document at their meeting on April 18, 2019; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves the updated version of the Rules and Regulations attached.
