Legislative Hearing Staff Comments:  Staff accepted late appeal; Open Cat 2 vacant 1/28/20-possible vb, called water dept, water off.  1/23/17: SPRWS, no usage for 4 yrs, house occupied and secure.

AMENDED 6/26/24

 

WHEREAS, in the matter of Marlene Barrett to a Vacant Building Registration Requirement at 1297 Seventh Street West, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council waive Vacant Building fee for 90 days to May 1, 2024 and change to Category 1 and not require a building to remain a Category 2 Vacant Building and requires a building only Code Compliance Inspection;

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council release this property from the Registered Vacant Building Program, as building inspection staff have indicated to the owner, that it should be released, notwithstanding the record which indicates the building meets the vacant building definition in Chapter 43 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
