Title

Authorizing the City to enter into a Reciprocal Fire Service Agreement, on behalf of the Fire Department, with the Capital City Regional Firefighter’s Association.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul Fire Department (SPPD) wishes to enter into a Reciprocal Fire Service Agreement (the “Agreement”), which includes an indemnification clause, with the Capital City Regional Firefighter’s Association, a group of governmental units who agree to make their respective fire-fighting equipment and personnel available to one another in the case of emergencies; and

WHEREAS, the purpose of the Agreement is to protect the public and preserve the lives and property of people in the listed jurisdictions by each party agreeing to furnish assistance to one another in the event of an emergency; and

WHEREAS, the general purpose of the Agreement is to enable each jurisdiction and their respective firefighter personnel and equipment to come to the aid of the other jurisdictions and parties to this agreement; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that City Council authorizes the City of Saint Paul to enter into a Reciprocal Fire Service Agreement, on behalf of the Fire Department, with the Capital City Regional Firefighter’s Association.
