Title

Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $190,000 for a contribution received from the Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education (MBFTE) to pay for training and equipment for the Minnesota Aviation Rescue Team (MART) and helicopter training with the Minnesota State Patrol. 

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education (MBFTE) has awarded a contribution of $190,000 for the Fire Department to pay for training and equipment for the Minnesota Aviation Rescue Team (MART) and helicopter training with the Minnesota State Patrol, and

 

WHEREAS, the public purpose of this contribution will be used to pay for training and equipment for the MART team, and

 

WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the contribution received, and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $190,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2015 budget, and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the addition as specified in the attachment "MART Financial Analysis" be made to the 2015 budget.

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council, on behalf of the residents of Saint Paul, accept this contribution of $190,000 from the Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education (MBFTE), extend their sincere appreciation to this organization, and approve the changes to the 2015 budget.
