Designating May 22, 2013, as Darlyne Morrow Day in the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota.

WHEREAS, Darlyne is retiring at the end of May after nearly thirty-two years of working for the City of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, Darlyne has served in many capacities after having worked in the Police Department, City Clerk's office, an earlier version of the Department of Safety and Inspections, the Mayor's office (serving each of the last 5 Mayors), and finally the Ward 4 City Council office; and
WHEREAS, Darlyne's breadth of experience in the City and the relationships she has developed have made her an indispensable asset in the Ward 4 Council office; and
WHEREAS, the Ward 4 office has relied upon Darlyne's ability to keep track of many things happening simultaneously, and that skill meant that we almost never let a constituent's concern fall through the cracks; and
WHEREAS, Darlyne has always treated constituents and business owners who contacted Ward 4 with the utmost respect and compassion, and their issues with urgency, and as such, is a model public employee who will be missed; and
WHEREAS, after her retirement, Darlyne hopes to move back to her hometown of St. Paul and/or explore the City more and patronize the great restaurants and cultural venues that she hasn't had time for in recent years;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Wednesday, May 22, 2013, be designated Darlyne Morrow Day in the City of Saint Paul with all the rights and privileges that entails; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby thanks Darlyne for her decades of valuable service to the City and its residents, and wishes her well as she enters retirement.
