Accepting a grant of $100,944 from Ramsey County via the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), and authorizing the Police Department to enter into an agreement and amend the 2012 budget.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department has been awarded Ramsey County Traffic Safety Initiative grant (RCTSI grant) via the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety; and
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has provided $100,944 via Ramsey County to cover costs of personnel and equipment in its effort to increase compliance with traffic safety laws with particular emphasis on seat belt, child safety and DWI; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul Police Department requests authorization to enter into the attached sub-agreement; and
WHEREAS, the 2012 financing and spending plan for this grant needs to be established; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that council accepts this grant, authorizes the City of Saint Paul to enter into and Chief Thomas Smith to implement the attached sub-agreement with Ramsey County and approves changes to the 2012 budget
